My laptop is stuck in: creating ext4 file system for / in partition #2 of SCSI2 (0,0,0) (sda)
Been in this part for a couple of hours now. Prior to this poriton I was unable to add my internet. I figured I could after add the internet connection after. The laptop computer is over 10 years old, I assumed I would not need to update while installing.
That means that the install has failed. It may have run into a bad sector.
You can safely just Shut Down the computer.
Once you have fully shut down, boot the USB and try installing again normally, Or you can try a manual install - but the Process should not take more than about thirty minutes. You can allow forty-five if you see it is progressing.
But three hours? No. No need to wait more than a few minutes on any particular action like "creating ext4 file system for / in partition #2 of SCSI2 (0,0,0) (sda)".

Plus. before trying again, make absolutely sure that SEcure boot and fast boot are disabled and that your file system and BIOS mode are in synch (no UEFI/MBR mismatch).
Restarting it worked. Thank you.
