I'm installing zorin 17 core and everything was going well, I selected a username and everything, but when I restarted the computer it didn't go past the loading screen. I tried to reinstall it more than 3 times. What can I do?
Try disabling Secure Boot in the BIOS/UEFI settings.
Welcome to the Forum!
Do you have a Dual-Boot System (Windows/Mac and Zorin)?
Is Secure Boot disabled (to find in the BIOS Settings)?
Is your BIOS run in UEFI or Legacy Mode?
Did You checked the Checksum of the ISO?
What Hardware does your Machine have? Especially Nvidia Cards?
The BIOS is currently running in legacy mode. I don’t have a dual-boot system or NVIDIA cards, and I’ve verified that the ISO checksum is correct. However, I can’t find the Secure Boot option in the BIOS, so I’m unable to determine if it’s disabled.
What is make and model of your machine?
It's an Acer Travelmate TMP645-M.
It might be under a submenu like Security, Boot Configuration, or Authentication
if you still cant see it , you might need to set a supervisor password
It worked! Disabling Secure Boot was easier than I expected. Now, I’m wondering if I need to keep Secure Boot disabled. Also, whenever I restart the computer, I have to select Zorin from a menu. Everything seems to be working smoothly, which makes me wonder if that’s all that needs to be done. Anyway, thanks to everyone for the help!
yes keep it disabled
not sure why you have to select zorin at startup, since you say it's the only OS installed?
Do You mean the GRUB Menu? Could You post a Screenshot of this Menu?
That screenshot is of a "Grub menu" indeed.
Do you expect to see 2 instances of ZorinOS?
Does ZorinOS boot OK if you select either of those "Zorin" items?
Okay, thank You for the Picture. Like @zabadabadoo wrote is this the GRUB Menu. But You shouldn't have 2 Entries. Do You have more than one EFI-Partition from Zorin?
Zorin boots correctly when I select the first option, though I haven't tried the second one yet. Reflecting on my installation attempts, I realize that I could have installed Zorin on a different storage drive, as the computer has two available drives.
Disks app or Gparted should reveal what you have where on your two drives.
You could take a Look in Disks or - if You have installed - GParted like @zabadabadoo wrote to check that.
It's working perfectly now.
