I discovered Zorin OS about a month ago and started using the Education version because of its preinstalled software. Today, I decided to migrate to the Core version due to performance lags. While the installation worked for the Education version, it is now stuck on the same step for over 30 minutes, and the installation is taking over 2 hours.
When installing try untick "additional driver and codecs", you can always install them later. And do also untick "downloading upgrades while installing". See if it helps.
I meant in the Installer. There should come 2 Options:
Erase Disk (that deletes Your Disk and installs Zorin automatically)
Something else (there You set up the Partitions manually)
Try it then offline, without an Internet Connection. Updates and Stuff, You can make after the Installation.
That would I count as UEFI. If other Stuff shouldn't work and You have the Possibility to use a Windows PC, You could use the Tool Rufus for creating the bootable USB Stick. Because Your BIOS seems to run in UEFI Mode, take a Look at the Partition Sheme Option and set it to GPT:
Bei Nummer 5: Sorry für die Verwechslung, habe "Erase Disk" ausgewählt.
Bei Nummer 7: ich weiss nicht wie ich das WLAN ausschalte.
Bei Nummer 3 und 4: welche "andere Sachen" soll ich den ausprobieren?
Liebe Grüsse.
In number 5: Sorry for the confusion. I selected "erase disk".
In number 7: I don't know, how to turn WiFi off.
In numbers 3 and 4: What other stuff should I try out?
Best wishes.
If You don't have a Switch on Your Machine to turn it off, You could take a Look in the BIOS. Or look at You Router. There should be a Switch, too. Or: Look at @Storm's Post above. You could make the Installation without Updating it. Oh, and do You use a Laptop or a Desktop PC?
With that I meant the other Ideas and Suggestions. Sorry for the unclear Wording.
Also, during the installation process, the installer asks two things:
To connect to the Internet
You can say No to this
And to Download Drivers automatically as you install
You can uncheck this box.
