Installed FreeCAD but not on App list

I'm a Zorin (& Linux) newbie - things going really well so far. But... I've selected and installed FreeCAD but can't find it in any of the app lists to run it! If I look in the 'Software' list, it has a green tick against it and offers me to 'Uninistall' it. But I can't find it anywhere to launch it.
I'm sure this is a pretty basic question - but help would be appreciated.
Thank you

Can you enter "FreeCad" in the search field of your start menu?

Hi, and welcome to Zorin OS!

When you check in the Software store, there's a drop-down menu underneath the install button (or where the green icon should now be, indicating that it's installed), that contains the source of the package that you've installed. What does it say in your case?

I'm guessing it's Flathub based on what you're describing. That's fine, there are more than one way to install packages in the realm of Linux, although there are some differences to watch out for.

Just to clarify this point real quick, do you mean that it doesn't appear under the application menu (pressing the Super/Window key)?

The issue is resolved now - There are two options in the store for FreeCAD. One is an APT package and the other FlatPAK. I've uninstalled the original (APT) and now installed the FlatPAK option. This took a good deal longer to install and now allows me to select 'Open' from the Software store (I didn't have that option before). Also, the app now appears in the 'Graphics' section of the menu stack.
Many thanks for your suggestions.

Yes, Flatpak packages need an additional set of libraries to be installed in your system before they can run, which usually adds to the download both in size and consequentially in time. Should only be a one time thing, however.

Glad you sorted this one out :+1:
