Yep, I restart computer and boot into OS.
Try a 'shutdown' in Windows before starting again to boot into Zorin. Windows 10, and 11, both like to have control over certain busses through a reboot; kind of like sleep / hibernation.
Did shutdown from windows then started in Zorin with same errors. Zoom nor Cheese recognise the cam. No change . . .
Things to check at this point:
Are you using a USB hub?
If using a hub: Even if it is working on Windows, check if the connection cable is a charging cable or reversed in direction.
BIOS reset: resetting the BIOS may resolve this issue.
Check your kernel - trying a different kernel may resolve the issue.
Logitech is well supported in Linux, so it is a surprising manufacturer to have trouble with... But being well supported does not mean all devices are fully supported. It may be the camera.
no hub and I reset bios w/no change. I'll try kernel in the morning. I'm just at a loss because the cam worked fine yesterday on Zorin 16.3 Pro. . .
First I want to thank everyone for all the assistance in solving this problem. And now, I found the solution! It was an act of sabotage clear and simple. I unplugged the cam usb connection and inspected the wire going to the cam. Bite marks in several places! I guess my cat was tired of me spending time at the computer so she disabled the cam. Once I unplugged the cam and restarted the computer, all error messages were gone.
Again, thank you all for the help!
