Installing ELAN fingerprint driver

when I run "sudo add-apt-repository ppa:libfprint-tod1-group/pa" I get the following error:

What should I do?

What distro are you using?
Noble Wombat is the name for Ubuntu 24.04.

Zorin OS 17 is using the Jammy Jellyfish repositories.

If you are using another distro; we need to know which and their base to help you find the correct packages.

If you are using Zorin OS, we need to check your sources to determine why it is looking for Noble instead of Jammy.

Yes, you're right, I do use ubuntu 24.04. I'd be glad if someone could tell me where to find the driver for this fingerprint scanner for my system.

They are not listed in the link above. They are only for 20.04 and 22.04. It might be possible this driver has been added in a newer kernel version.

I am not quite sure which ELAN driver you need without a model number, but you might find the necessary package here:

erm ... Numbat

We all make mistakes! I think I referred to 24.04 as noble narwhal - that was used a while back when it was natty narwhal! (I think!)

Chuckle thanks for the correction. I knew it was some kind of bat.

When they reach 'W'. I will suggest Willy Wombat (from a kids program I used to watch, obviously from Oz) over the Wibbly Wobbly Way!
