Installing Fonts in Zorin

I had planned on installing my font library yesterday "Font-Freitag",
but it got pushed forward 1 day to "Font-Samstag".

Plugged in the external drive, opened the Font folder..
then realised there is no destination Font folder in Zorin (or LInux overall),
so I started right-clicking each font -- took 'Open with Fonts', and hit Install. Very Easy albeit mind-numbingly slow and repetitive.

In Windows I would Select All in the external Fonts folder > copy > then paste into Windows' Font folder. Any matching fonts already installed triggers a popup window: 'skip or replace font', which can be applied to All.
This ability saves lorry-loads of time and key strokes.

I'm only guessing there is no similar method in Linux, so I hope I'm mistaken.

Thus far -- I've installed all fonts begining with A, and I've already been at it for hours, with 1000s more fonts to install.

Anyone keen on saving my mouse-clicking finger from RSI is very welcome to reveal their secrets.

Ta!

Install Font Management from Synaptic. Then it should be easy. Itcs why I prefer Plasma as font management is present by default.

Brilliant

is there a Terminal command for that, or just to browse through software.

Thanks!

This happens in GnuLinux File managers, as well. You can select all folder contents, then copy all in batch and paste all in batch. You will got a pop up asking skip > Skip all > Replace file

Fonts are located either in /usr/share/fonts/truetype
or in your home directory ~.fonts
If you do not have a .fonts folder in home, you can just create it by right click > create new folder > name it .fonts

I do not mess with fonts very much at all, so I am less certain about the subfolders that carry the title and truetype files for the individual font.

Thank you Aravisian! -- This makes a huge difference.

And now I finally know where the fonts folder is.

After installing Font Manager in Synaptic..
I selected All in the Fonts folder -- selected the application
and I get a little window asking me to drag a font for viewing.
(it doesn't even work to drag 1 font).

Unfortunately, I cannot get Font Manager to work.

SIDE NOTE >

Since Synaptic was installed.. I constantly get a popup asking for a password.
Why on earth am I suddenly getting password requests for everything, including Terminal, and how can I turn the bloody thing off?
