Installing Howdy (face unlock)

Did someone manage to install "Howdy" on Zorin 18?
I tries with AI help but I feel I am going in circles... :upside_down_face:
My device is capable of using Windows "Hello".

On Zorin some users tried to install it but I haven't read yet about a successul installation.

You could try it with this guide:

But as Zorin uses other packages as ubuntu it may fail and cause conflicts. I'm not sure if it is worth to try.

This is an older instruction, in the comments it is also said that it didn't worked on Linux Mint 22.1 which is based on ubuntu 24.04:

Thank you very much @Forpli , the first guide worked perfect for me on the first try on a Dell XPS13 9310!
Lets hope it continues though further updates and changes...

Typing in the password is faster though,
and the face recognition isnt very reliable (on fast mode) unfortunately...
Maybe it will get better with time?

I don't think so. All the reports I've read concluded that facial recognition is not worthwhile under Linux.

And I understand that. The idea of this feature is quite cool tough!
