Installing HP DeskJet 3755 All-In-One Printer/Scanner in Zorin 17.2 Pro

I attempted to install my HP DeskJet 3755 All-In-One Printer/Scanner in Zorin 17.2 Pro and I am experiencing numerous file dependencies issues.

I first installed the 'Zorin' version of HPLIP from the HP Linux Developer's website and the installation process flagged numerous file dependencies; I then aborted the install of HPLIP and attempted to install the Ubuntu version - with the same file dependencies issues.

Does anyone know how to install such a printer/scanner in Zorin 17.2 Pro?

Thanks in advance.

I have an HP Deskjet 2130 which is roughly similar to the 3755. I use Zorin 7 Pro Lite. HPLIP is included in software and drivers, so should not need to be installed again. When I first connected my printer by USB cable, it was recognised within seconds in "Settings"> "Printers", and I was able to printout an item from Documents. I leave the cable connected, rather than using WiFi.
Once that is working, you can decide if you want the HPLIP Toolbox installed, for cleaning Heads, and checking cartridge ink, etc.
Scanning is different. You have to open "Document Scanner", wait for it to find your printer, then click "Scan", then once done, click "Save". My printer has a button for immediate photocopies, without using the scanner.
I hope this helps you.

I should have clarified that I am trying to setup my printer on my WiFi. It is not discovered by hp-setup or the HP Tool Box app when either attempting to use the 2nd (discover wifi printer with either automatic discovery or by manual IP address) or the 3rd (discover wifi printer while connected to USB cable) installation options. Also during installation of both HPLIP and HPLIP-GUI there was an error message stating that they are not compatible with Zorin OS. [SOLVED] The trick in my case was to first install the HP DeskJet 3755 All-In-One Printer-Scanner in Windows 11. Once bound to my WiFi router, I reverted back to a disk image that I had made prior to installing HDLIP and HDLIP-GUI (either the versions available in the Zorin repo or those available from the HP Linux Developer site). I then simply ran sudo apt-get update; then sudo apt-get install hdlip-gui; then ran hd-setup 192.168.1.112 (i.e. the static IP assigned by my router to my HP DeskJet) et voila! It installed both printing and scanning capabilities - all controllable via HDLIP Toolbox (the app installed by hdlip-gui). I hope that this post helps other quadruple-boot system owners.

I once had to reinstall Windows 98 for a client once and they had an all-in-one HP Wi-Fi but it needed to be connected by USB and the ip address entered manually whilst connected to the computer. So say your wifi router is 192.168.xxx.1, create an ip address of 192.168.xxx.255 (the numbering convention of the last octet is from when I was an IT contractor where protocol was to give printers the highest number as computers took the lower octets). Having just discovered a new method of installing printer drivers, first change your Software Updater software sources to 'Main Server'. Start software updater then stop it. Go to the left most tab and make sure the server if not set to 'Main Server' change it to that, you will need to enter your login password to elevate you to 'root', and once changed, Software Updater will reload and may find some new updates. Install the updates and if needed restart your computer. Once rebooted, install Synaptic Package Manager from Softaare. Once installed, search Synaptic Package Manager for printer-driver-all and click on the small box next to it and select 'Mark for installation' then click on the Apply button on the menu bar.

Please view my latest video 19 minutes in which shows how I connected my Canon wifi all-in-one using this meta package:

If Document scanner does work you need to choose the scanner name with ESCL in it to scan. If it doesn't use Synaptic to install skanlite.

OK, personally, I don't manually download software off the web, to install on Linux usually, because most software and drivers, can be installed either in the software center, or synaptic package manager.

I install HPLIP from the Synaptic Package Manager.

How, you did mention that you use a WIFI setup for your HP printer. If its WIFI, then both your computer and your printer, both need to be on the same WIFI.

And you should be able to see your printer. I personally am not interested in WIFI printers, and I am using a commercial old wired printer HP 2100 laser printer.
