Still looking for a 2nd hand 17" laptop and i've found a good candidate that ticks the boxes. It does, however, have hybrid graphics with Intel CPU/iGPU and a Radeon dedicated graphics card.
Any problems with this hardware configuration that people are aware of?
The spec sheet gives two different models of Inspiron where graphics info is concerned. Do you know which it is on the one you are considering? Sometimes Linux kernel will work on one model and not another. This is possibly similar to Windows in this regard. When I was an IT Contractor I met the Gandalf of Windows NT (he had a beard that wood but Gandalf's to shame. He told me about hardware certified to work with Windows. Whilst individual hardware could be certified, if they were put together in the same machine they would not meet Windows Certification!
The model i specified there sold before i could get to it. So it's a partially moot question now However, there are a couple of other similar units i'm interested in. But depends if my friend can pick it up and send to me before it's sold to someone else.
