I booted (and installed) zorin core on an old Intel Macbook Pro.
Works great.
I can upgrade that install to zorin pro.
When I try to boot from the zorin pro usb drive it gets through the usb image validation step and hangs at the Zorin icon.
Welcome to the Forum!
Did You checked the Checksum of the ISO? What Tool did You used to create the Bootstick?
I used Balena etcher to create the USB stick.
The checksum matches.
I also downloaded pro a second time and tried that one (same result).
I have tried 3 different usb drives.
I have written zorin core onto one of the USB sticks that wasn't booting pro.
I can that drive to boot core.
Machine in question is MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2015) (model A1398)
Next I will look into if there's a way to switch to a new terminal to see logs.
I got it working
I have no idea what I did differently (besides re-flashing pro onto a previously working core usb disk and using the right usb port to boot).
Let's close this since the situation is unlikely to yield any more information.
If ever needing to reinstall, based on another MacOS user's experience, I would give Fedora Media Writer a try instead of Balena Etcher which has come in for quite a lot of criticism in posts on this forum.
