I know that. Its just reviewing which hsloffers the best privacy.
Messenger APPs were popular, when emails took a long time to write, and phone messaging rates, were too high to be feasable. Think MSN Messenger days, or ICQ. These days, its costs nothing to do phone text messaging, so who needs an APP to do messaging?
Depends on the phone I think. Plain old sms messaging can be read by the carrier. Iphone messages are more secure (unless they fail over to sms) as are Telegram, Whatsapp, etc.
Not always true. SMS are not always free of charge, it depends on the mobile/cellphone plan you are on. Messenger apps, just eat into your data quota. You pay the provider whichever way.
