Nope, no docking station, nor anything else connected.
The issue I had with my docking station caused much of the black screen timeout (as well as issues with booting up a usb) but I still encounter the issue. 
Very random screen blackout as if the displayport cable has been disconnected, happens for 2 seconds. Sometimes it happens one time, sometimes more than one time. Quite strange. It's been like this since the beginning of installation of Zorin. I also get the black screen on other distros when live booting.
I even exchanged the displayport cable for a different brand, that was no help.
Now I'm wondering if it's the SSD that needs a thermal case. 
Sometimes the black screen don't happen at all in a day, just pops up when I least expect it.
