I have a dual boot setup with Windows 11 and Zorin OS 17. When I initially installed both systems, Secure Boot was disabled.
Recently, I had to enable Secure Boot in order to play Battlefield 2042, as the new EA anti-cheat requires it. However, after enabling Secure Boot, I started experiencing issues in Zorin OS — particularly with the Nvidia driver and the network adapter.
More specifically:
One of my monitors is not recognized after booting into Zorin.
My network connection doesn't work at all.
Is there a way to use Zorin OS with Secure Boot enabled, without running into these issues?
It's quite inconvenient to enter the BIOS and toggle Secure Boot every time I want to switch between Windows and Zorin.
My motherboard is an ASUS TUF Gaming X870-PLUS WIFI.
Many on Zorin OS have issues with "Secure Boot" enabled, as its a feature designed for Windows, and doesn't work on Linux. We typically recommend keeping "Secure Boot" disabled for Linux users, as it causes more harm then good.
Also, when you login to Zorin OS, make sure you are running on Zorin OS on Xorg, don't use Wayland. You however are running into issues caused by SB being enabled, thats your prime issue.
Additionally, I believe all game studios who make a game designed around Anti-Cheat, to be evil. They know anti-cheat ruins the Linux experience, and they don't care. EA are also the worst and most evil of game studio's.
