I’ve been using Zorin OS quite comfortably without any major issues. However, I’ve encountered a problem related to suspend mode and shutdown. When my laptop enters suspend mode (either automatically or when I suspend it manually), I face difficulties restarting the system. Sometimes it takes too long to resume, and other times it doesn't resume at all.
Even when I try to shut down the laptop, it occasionally fails to power off completely. I am forced to press and hold the power button to restart it manually.
Additionally, after resuming from suspend mode, my Wi-Fi doesn’t show up. When I try to restart the network manager using the command systemctl restart NetworkManager or execute other commands in the terminal, the terminal freezes and becomes unresponsive.
Thank you for your suggestion! I will try rolling back to a previous kernel and check if the issue persists. Could you please guide me on how to safely roll back to an older kernel in Zorin OS? I want to make sure I follow the correct steps.
To try booting a previous kernel.
From grub menu, select Zorin Additional Options.
From the list of kernels there, choose one of the older kernel generic versions and boot.
You can then determine if any improvement.
If not you, you can either try another earlier version listed or let the default of latest version boot as normal and try something else.
