I recently installed Zorin OS 16 Pro on a Dell Latitude 5580 laptop and was having issues with the touchpad not working after waking up from sleep. I am able to get it to work if I put it back to sleep using the power button and wake it back up. I looked on the forums for my specific issue and I wasn't able to find any solutions other than check their website for drivers. Luckily, Dell does have drivers for my specific laptop. I installed the drivers from the website and running it opens the software app. When I click install, I get an error saying, "The following packages have unmet dependencies: (nothing else)" I haven't found a solution to my problem. I hope someone has had this issue and has found a solution.
Have you tried installing synaptics?
sudo apt install -y xserver-xorg-input-synaptics
