Yeah! It's weird.
Wayland or X11 is the same result.
Thank you all, I'll install it on a spare laptop currently having issues with Debian and Thunderbolt and see how it goes. (Latitude 5420 with i7 11th gen.).

I ended up installing KDE plasma in the virtual machine and it's working great!
I'll post feedback later on the Dell Latitude.
Thank you,
I finished installing Zorin Core in my Dell Latitude 5420 (i7-11th gen)(using a freshly downloaded image) and got the same issue right after the computer asked me to install the latest updates (post-installation).
I haven't installed extensions or anything! Just plain operating system and its updates. Lol
it's funny that I don't see too many people posting about the same problem all over the internet !
And it was definitely not the virtual machine!
Same issue, using different .iso file, on a totally different hardware (virtualbox vs physical pc)
Yeah... I don't have an explanation for this to be honest. Although in the case of using KDE Plasma, I'm not sure that the Zorin Appearance would work correctly anyway. Never tried it myself, so I can't really tell.
Hmm ... You could try it this Way: Install it without an Internet Connection. And when it is installed, connect it to the Internet, then check if the Source in Software & Updates is set to ''Main Server'' and then start the Software Updater by Yourself and look for Updates and then let install them over the Software Updater.
