Issues with Wayland and 3070ti

Hello,
Today I tried using Wayland for the first time and immediately upon logging in, GreenWithEnvy greeted me with a "NV-CONTROL X extension not found" error and couldn't find my GPU. I opened nvidia-settings and the driver (550.54.14) showed as installed, but all the sub menus on the left were gone.

I tried rolling back to driver 545 but still the same issue.
Is this an expected behaviour and I just have to wait for updates or are there people running Wayland in 17.1 on a 3070ti without issues and maybe it's something on my end that's the problem?

This is a known issue and it lies with Wayland. The solution is to not use Wayland and log in on the X11 desktop.

Will do, thanks.
Unfortunate though as the general smoothness around the desktop environment seems greatly improved.

Nvidia hasn't built out their control panel (and many other control-related parts) to work on Wayland (yet). In typical Nvidia fashion, you get a worse experience using newer tech.
