Just have to say

I sure appreciate the way GNU/Linux in general, and Zorin particular has made my hardware peripherals so plug and play. Found my printers for me. Found my scanner the same way. And today, it found my webcam without any setup whatsoever. I was in a sticky situation, trying to get set up with login.gov in order to access my Social Security account because I couldn't find my Social Security paper statement. They make you jump through hoops, and jump I did, right up until I couldn't continue because they didn't recognize my cell number as belonging to me (I've had it for 20 years). I had to backtrack and try another way - ID.me. Got all the way through things up to the phone number again, and no go. BUT there was a video call option. Great! But the computer I was using had no built in video cam. I didn't want to bail out, because this being my second try I was afraid they'd lock me out for a period of time.... and I'm trying to do my taxes! And so... I grabbed a usb webcam out of the drawer and plugged into a usb port. My old windows habits had me thinking I could go into settings and enable this thing... but no. I couldn't find how to do it, and the clock was ticking. I wondered how long before this thing would time me out....
Nothing was lighting up on the webcam, no indication that the it was recognized by the system. Not promising, but I went ahead and clicked on the "Connect Video Call" button anyway. To my delight, up popped a couple dialog boxes asking me to verify the hardware and connect, and I was in! True plug and play when it counted. Now I can finish my taxes. Thank you Zorin. Thank you GNU/Linux!

SS gets wierd..i assume thats the phone number you used to setup your SS before the .gov log in? if not it wont accept it. you may have to call SS and setup an appointment to get it corrected....as for your taxes you can request an extension
