It doesn't show properly in Zorin 18.1, see screenshot.
Hi, Kalarm was built for KDE Plasma.
To work you would need to install kde-standard. Zorin uses the Gnome DE.
Have you ensured that alarms are enabled or start monitoring?
Depending on what you want to do perhaps Gnome Clocks would be better? I think Zorin already has this but can't remember if it is possible to create a tray icon:

I did look at that. I need KAlarm, since the demise of Day Planner (excellent and simple), it appears this is the only app. Unless someone knows different. I've tried lots of planners. I need an audible alarm with words for each occurrence. KAlarm and the defunct Day Planner had continuous alarm until stopped the by user.
So question is how to made the icon work?
I would love a fork of Day Planner, but alas no takers yet.
Yes I know that it is KDE. I am able to use on Pop! OS 22.04LTS, and it shows the icon, which I assume is Gnome DE.
Yes it does alarm from the tests I made. So yes it works.
You can try installing AppIndicator and KStatusNotifierItem Support in Gnome extensions
and disable Zorin KStatusNotifierItem/AppIndicator Support
