Keep having problems with Bluetooth in Zorin OS 18.1

Hello!

I am very frustrated with Bluetooth connection in Zorin OS 18.1, I thought I fixed it when switched from Wayland to X11, but I didn't.

While working in my Laptop I love listening music with my Bluetooth earbuds, but they keep disconnecting suddenly, and the quality of sound is poor and they disconnect intermittently, now I can't get them back.

Do I need to update the Kernel?

Do I need to look for another distro with better support for Bluetooth?

Windows 11 worked fine on that area, but it is a privacy and performance nightmare.

Please help!

Do you have a Dualboot with Windows? Please disable fast startup in Windows' power settings if it is turned on.

Please try to not open multi-topic for your bluetooth problem or it will be difficult to help you

Hi!

No, I installed Zorin OS 18 on top of Windows 11.

Hello,

Sorry about that, it wasn't my intention. I am a newbie and I didn't find a way to add this topic to my previous Post.

it's ok don't be sorry, it's just easiest to help you if there is just one topic

Do you have secure boot enabled in your BIOS ? if yes try to disable it

Hi!

Yes, I just disable it.

What is the advantage or disadvantage of having secure boot enabled?

I also installed The PPA ppa:aglasgall/pipewire-extra-bt-codecs, which provides additional Bluetooth codecs for PipeWire, which may improve audio quality for Bluetooth devices on Zorin OS 18.1

try to disable it it could fix your bluetooth problem...

I just disabled secure boot, it was enabled.

Also, installed The PPA:
ppa:aglasgall/pipewire-extra-bt-codecs

I found online those Codecs helped with the sound quality issue.

good, so now does all is working for you ?

I don't know yet.

As soon as I am able to test it. I'll let you know what happened.

Thank you for your time, your kindness and all you help.

Hi!

I am back after testing PipeWire with EasyEffects as a frontend, in Wayland.

There was no improvement the sound is the same as before.

I am using wired earbuds instead for better sound quality in my Laptop Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3i 15.6", and my earbuds ONN for my Samsung S25 +

I just can't make my ONN earbuds to work in my Laptop. I am able to connect them, but the sound quality is not good, so I decided to use my wired earbuds instead of the ONN Bluetooth.

Thank you all for your time, your patience and your advice.
