Kernel 7.0.0-31 breaks resume from suspend (s2idle) on Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 (AMD Ryzen)

Posting this in case it helps other IdeaPad Slim 3 users, and to document a working fix.

Hardware: Lenovo IdeaPad Slim 3 (AMD Ryzen APU, integrated amdgpu graphics)
OS: Zorin OS (based on Ubuntu 24.04)

Problem: After a routine kernel update from 7.0.0-30-generic to 7.0.0-31-generic (installed 15 Sept 2026), the laptop stopped resuming from suspend. The power LED keeps blinking as if still suspended, opening the lid and pressing the power button do nothing, and the only way out is a forced shutdown with a long power-button press — losing any unsaved work. The machine uses s2idle only (/sys/power/mem_sleep shows [s2idle], no deep/S3 available in BIOS).

What I confirmed: The failure started exactly when 7.0.0-31 was installed. Booting the previous kernel 7.0.0-30-generic resolves it completely — the laptop resumed cleanly after two hours in suspend, across multiple cycles. So this looks like a kernel regression in 7.0.0-31 affecting s2idle resume on this hardware.

Workaround: Keep 7.0.0-31 installed (so update flow continues) but set 7.0.0-30 as the default boot entry via GRUB_DEFAULT in /etc/default/grub, then sudo update-grub. Will re-test when 7.0.0-32 arrives.

Has anyone else on an IdeaPad Slim 3 (or other AMD Ryzen laptop) seen resume break specifically with 7.0.0-31? Curious whether it's model-specific.

Did You received a Firmware Update, too? Because at the Moment there is an Issue with current current Linux Firmware Packages and AMD Graphics:
