Kernel update 7.0.0-28 still errors out even with Virtual box removed

Got a Kernal Panic for the update to Kernel 7.0.0-28

Used Time-Shift and rolled back - all was good.

Removed Oracle Virtual Box - no issues

Unattended update occured about 15 minutes later and still got an update error for Kernal 7.0.0-28.

Update:

Even though the error code (1) above it still updated to Kernel 7.0.0-28 after a reboot... No errors on startup....

HOWEVER, it seems the Nvidia Driver is no longer loading and trying to re-install the Nvidia Driver errors out... So I did another roll-back with Time-Shift and my system is fully working again.

This is the first time I have had an issue with Kernel Updates... And I have been running Zorin for several months now.

I hope the issue with Kernel 7.0.0-28 is resolved.

BUT for now I have set the updates to recieve Security Updates only.

NOTE:

I remember reading on Nvidia's driver page for Linux that there was a driver update NVIDIA 595.58.03 driver version officially fixed compiling compatibility out of the box for stable Linux kernel version 7.0.

BUT I'm on the 580 Branch... I will need to research this further and try upgrading to Nvidia Driver Version 595.58.03 from the 595 Branch, or maybe 580.159.04 from the 580 Branch (I'm on 580.159.03) before turning back on "ALL Updates" from "Security Only" Updates.

If the kernel 7.0 is breaking things and has so many regressions, it is not an upgrade. It is just breaking things.
Getting a bigger number on the kernel is not unlocking any achievement.

If the previous kernel works - then it's best to use that and avoid the 7.0 kernel for now.

And when You don't use unattended Update?

I see the option to download but not install... I want to get security updates only... please no new kernel for the time being.

I meant, when You use the Software Updater Tool and untick the Kernel Update Packages.
