Keyboard and Trackpad do not Work - 2019 16" MBP ZorinOS 17.3 Pro

I just installed ZorinOS 17.3 Pro on a 2019 I9 16" MacBook Pro. The hardware is fine. Everything works in macOS 26.01 as expected. This is an issue with ZorinOS 17.3 Pro as well as its Live USB/DVD.

I can use the keyboard and trackpad in the bootloader but once I get to ZorinOS (either the live USB or the installed OS), they don't work. There has to be a kext or something that isn't working.

I can hook external keyboard and a mouse up and things work as expected, but this is a laptop and I'm not going to have them around when I'm not in my home office.

Any thoughts on what to do to get the internal hardware functioning?

Does Your System run in Wayland or X11? You can check that in Settings>About. When it runs in Wayland, I would suggest to try it with switching to X11/Xorg.

To do that, go to the Login Screen, not the Lock Screen. Simply reboot for that. On the Login Screen click on Your Profile so that the Password Field appears. When it is appeared, You should see a Gear Icon in the bottom right Corner. Click on it and choose the Option ''Zorin Desktop on Xorg'' and then log in.

You might have to do that with external Keyboard and Mouse when it doesn't work there.

If your MBP has a T2 chip you could follow these steps here. The 16'' MBP 2019 is listed in this Zorin guide:
