I noticed a few weeks ago that some of my keys would sometimes not work and would sometimes act like I was constantly depressing them until I pressed the keys that were acting up again.
Yes, I am a gamer and I noticed it while gaming, but it would also occur while writing papers for college, though not as often. I assumed it was my keyboard, as it was nearly 8 years old. I replaced my keyboard and mouse. Problem is still occurring, unfortunately. It is quite frustrating.
Google has been unhelpful, as it keeps returning potential fixes for Windows (turn off sticky keys, uninstall and reinstall the drivers in Device Manager, etc.).
@swarfendor437 Original keyboard was a cheap digital keyboard, so most likely membrane. New keyboard is a mechanical keyboard, so it's the X type.
Should specify, the problem occurs when a key is either pressed a lot when typing or when held a lot such as wsad keys for gaming. The keys are not physically stuck. Just electronically seem to be stuck until I hit the key that's the offender again. For example if I see fffffffffffffff on my paper, it will keep inputting f until I hit the key again.
@swarfendor437 I found a bug report for ibus where this would occasionally happen for people using wine for applications. Purging ibus and all related packages seems to have fixed the issue for me.
