Keyboard lighting

Hello Gentlemen,

Question about keyboard lighting.

I was using a previous version of Zorin Core om my Asus Strix laptop.
The keyboard backlighting function was located under POWER in the Zorin SETTINGS menu so that I could move the slider to adjust the brightness of the keys and backlighting.

I just installed Zorin 17.1 core, 64 bit on the same Asus Strix laptop but now that option is not in the same place.

Can anyone advise where it was moved to or what I may have overlooked to enable/modify that feature?

Thanks

Welcome to the forum!

By "using previous version of Zorin Core", do you mean previously version 17 core (non .1) or 16 (or potentially earlier)?

I think it was 15 or 16.

Ok, and does the keyboard have any keybinds built-in that works to dim or brighten the keyboard? Or does the keyboard have no functioning brightness controls at all right now? I vaguely recall this feature (the slider in the menus for the keyboard brightness), but I can't remember when the last time I saw it was.

It has no keyboard buttons to control the key backlighting. It's done via the ASUS ROG key that opens up the Armoury Crate app. In that app you can set the key color and brightness, etc.

Yes the keyboard is totally dark in Zorin but works fine in Win 10. It did work with the previous version of Zorin via the slider control under the power settings but now that slider is missing in Zorin 17.

Maybe it something that's not supported in Zorin 17?

I use OpenRGB for lighting on my desktop PC:

Or you can use appimage:
