Absolutely.
Way better than air cans and much safer too.
Hopefully they'll restock. You probably can find a similar one for a lesser price but not dark wood. ![]()

I think there could be a case for splitting this thread, as it seems to have morphed into a keyboards discussion. Mods to decide?
I haves sorted out some Stuff and created an own Thread for it. It might not fit all 100% but should be okay.
Well after everything I did on keyboard, I went crazy this morning took off all the caps and soaked them in dishsoap them cleaned them with a toothbrush set them on a towel to dry. Next I removed all the brown clicky switchs and totaly cleaned the keyboard, then reassembled it and it looks brand new now..what a job that was,but well worth it. Then i looked and saw the blue clickys are out for delivery...lol
Ok I looked real hard and used a magnifying glass and the browns currently in board are a kailh bronze speed switch. the blues i got are from Zhouwang and alot quieter like 1/3 the click noise of the ones in the board
The ones i really want are made by Gateron and $29 for 108 of them heres the link to them
Well thats strange, I thought all blue switches were louder then brown switches, at least they have been in my limited experience. This is the first time I'm hearing a brown switch louder then a blue switch. ![]()
When they should be lubed, it could explain that.
@wesoliv429: When You are interested in more silent Switches, I can recommend the Akko Fairy Silent Switches or if You prefer Tacktile the Akko Penguin Silent Switches.
The Fairy's Color Combination might not be subtile but when Keycaps are on them, it doesn't matter. I use them, too and can say there are really smooth and nice to type. You don't need much Force to move them.
The Penguin's are a bit harder but not much. I found them a bit scratchy at the Beginning but when You use them a bit, it changes.
@StarTreker its probly cause they are Zhouwang and they seem to be differnt
also these are light blue vs the MX dark blue this maybe why as well
@Ponce-De-Leon i really like the loud click hence why i looked at Gearon switches as i saw a youtube video with all their nice switchs and how they sound found that link to ones that are their loud ones
@StarTreker heres a pick of the blue i belive your thinking on
vs what i got
shades are slightly lighter vs the darker blue
seems most dark blue ones need to say compatable with MX Cherry switch
I find I am able to type much better on keys that give a certain resistance, the more resistance, the more consistency of results. When my mistakes increase (for whatever reason - bad posture, fatigue, not enough coffee), it helps to pretend I'm typing on an IBM Selectric, because they required a definite downward stroke instead of a mere touch. A bit more vertical stroke feels odd at first, but the accuracy actually improves. It could be also because you can't type as fast this way. ![]()
Membrane/chiclet keyboards don't feel nearly as rewarding, but even there my accuracy improves.
The one thing that makes the biggest difference however is simple to do but difficult to remember - to either look away from the screen, or to close my eyes. There is a sort of cognitive dissonance that comes with looking at the screen while the text appears. (Like speaking against one's own echo?)
And yet... I never can make this a habit. I always forget and return to watching the screen, mistakes and all, as I am doing right now, sigh.
(After a glass of wine I can type like the wind no matter the circumstances. Let's hear it for mild impairment!)
Hmm @wsmather your more into the tactile responce of the keys. i like that was well really get that from the MX Cherrys but they want alot of cash for those when ya need 104 of them even the Gaterons arnt cheap those light blues i got have that type of feel need to push a bit harder and feel the bump at the bottom as they return
But to be honest i really prefer the loud click when i type like the sound of the old electric typewriters of the late 60s to mid 70s its just me here so like the sounds bouncing off the monitor....lol.....Maybe im just being old but i went into Navy at 17 back in 1975 and thats the kind of typewriters we had back then
its how these sounded back in the early days of PC's
I should begin by saying, I used to have the previous Logitech G502 Hero mouse, but had to throw it away, it was simply too worn out, suffering from double clicking switches, and the surface of the mouse was worn away and icky.
Then I got a SteelSeries Aerox 5 mouse last year, and mostly enjoying it. Unfortunately, it suffers the fate of scrolling the other direction, when I am trying to scroll, deeply annoying. I also didn't enjoy losing the side scrolling function.
I just ordered the new Logitech G502 X wired version mouse. This new version mouse, has a more precise sensor onboard. Instead of the usual garbage Logitech mouse switches of the past, the G502 X, has optical switches. I will say, the switches feel and sound far better, then the original version.
Tactile strong clicks, thats what I want! Optical beam, registers a click, when beam is disrupted, no accidental double clicking! I am glad they kept the DPI switcher too, can adjust DPI on the fly! No cable braiding however, thats a minus. Feels way better to use, then my SteelSeries Aerox 5!
Can permanent adjust DPI resolutions, polling rate, and buttons, via the Piper APP. Pay no attention to the 404 placeholder, this is due to old version APP in the repositories. Flatpak has a newer version, but it won't work due to RatBagD version missmatch. App works fine despite the 404 placeholder.
