Hello everyone, so I have a 3060 and all the drivers are running....
Does anyone have a problem with x11 being laggy when opening menus etc, and ABIT glitchy... But real quick and no glitch in Wayland???
E.g of I open video, downloads, docs etc from the menu... Takes a few seconds to open... But instant on wayland
Thought it would be the other way around

Yeah... But I find it the same on 17 or 18..
For most users x11 is the better choice in Zorin 17, but not for everyone. Usually x11 is recommended for nvidia users, but use the one which works better for you.
Yeah... I'm sorter stuck in the middle... Want x11 for colour profiles, but the performance of Wayland... Starting to make me think something is up with my 3060 with Linux
What Driver do You use for Your Graphics Card?
I've tested all the ones that come with zorin...?
I'll try them all again... I'm still new to Linux, so perhaps there is something else I'm not doing correctly
Also just to check.. when I login I have th options of zorin desktop or zorin desktop Wayland ... It doesn't ever say x11... But it does in about?

Then in Your Case ''Zorin Desktop'' is the Xorg Option. When You look in Settings>About there You should find X11 as Value.
Because of the Driver Question: I meant the Driver Version, You use at the Moment.
as you can see i use X11 with the 570 server on my 3050 which is very simular to your 3060 for the most part

its about .5 to .6 of a sec some times others open before i get my finger off the clicker it will all depend on mem speed/apu speeds it way faster then win 11 thats for sure
interesting... yeah i have the same, but sometimes its like 3-5 seconds to open up... thanks for the help, ill have a look
hmm its possible its my cpu @ 4200 mhz and the memory DD4 @ 3600 MHZ and the NVME @ 5000GB per sec thats helping
