Hi, I am using Zorin core on an apple imac.
I need to do a download of several hundred gigabytes. This starts ok but after about an hour the process aborts. I have tried using nohup in the terminal and & followed by disown.
The results are the same as before.
Does anyone have any advice.
Thanks
Hello and welcome,
Maybe the uGet app in the Software Center, but I don't have any personal experience with it.
Is there a torrent for it? I don't use it now but when I did use Torrent App I used Deluge. I remember Transmission that used to ship with early versions of Zorin had a security issue so I changed to Deluge.
Welcome to the Forum!
When it abborts, does it abbort during the Download or does the Download Rate sinks before it do? Do You use a Browser or a Program to download it? If a Browser: What Browser and have You any Browser Extensions installed? If A Program: What Program?
Can You tell more about the Data, You want download? Is it one big File or a couple Files? Is it from a Website or a Cloud Storage?
Hi, thanks for the interest.
It is the bitcoin blockchain. I am just interested not investing. It uses its own program and it gradually gets slower. There is a -daemon option but that does not work either. I have set the iMac to never turn off but the program just disappears after about an hour.
Hmm ... is it every Time exact 1 Hour or is it sometimes more, sometimes less? Maybe some Energy Saving Features could be activated.
I don’t think it’s energy saving because it does not switch off the computer. The program window just disappears from the desktop.
Also it is not exactly an hour just approximately.
Hmm ... Maybe You should ask the Developer of this Program. When there is some kind of Contact Possibility and explain the Situation.
