Latest Firefox and Thunderbird as an Option?

I see that You have Thunderbird ESR 140.6.0 as of 18.12.2025 in Zorin Repo.
Is there any way to add the latest Thunderbird release 146.0.1 to Zorin 18 Core Repo?

It seems that you have the latest Firefox 146.0.1 as of 18.12.2025 in the Zorin repo allready, and I could copy my .mozilla folder into the Users Home folder and it worked Flawlessly with all my Bookmarks, Extensions and etc in place.

And Please advise on how to make it so that the Profile folder .thunderbird is going to be located in the user Home Folder, so that it is possible to back it up for the future to just copy and paste into place?

And is it possible to set them as default Browser and Mail Client? And how?

Firefox is available because of the adding of the Mozilla Repo; so, it comes directly from Mozilla. Unfortunately, Thunderbird doesn't have an own Repo or comes over the existing Mozilla Repo.

There exists a mozillateam PPA but this only offers Thunderbird ESR. The only 2 Option that I see would be using the Flatpak Version of Thunderbird or downloading the tar File from Thunderbird Website.

In traditional or ESR version.

And in this case, do not forget to run this command in order to have the least possible versions present in his computer.
sudo snap set system refresh.retain=2

Hi @merinos . I also needed to install the latest stable from Snap as follows:

`sudo snap install thunderbird --channel=monthly/stable`

Thunderbird backup is in the following place:

/home/kasutaja3/snap/thunderbird/common/.thunderbird

Do I still need to use your command when I install the latest Thunderbird Snap like this?:

You could use Gnome Software, too. Open it, search for Thunderbird and on the Site, choose the Dropdown Menu under the Install Button.

Yes, for the traditional version (like Firefox):

sudo snap install thunderbird --channel=monthly/stable

And for the ESR version:

sudo snap install thunderbird --channel=esr/stable

Note that the website currently has a small TLS certificate issue.
