I am competently new to linux and want to learn. As much as possible I want to use the terminal to perform tasks. I was wondering if you guys could lead me to some useful tutorial or guide to get started on Zorin.
Also when installing Zorin I wanted to dual boot it along side Windows but during install I messed up quite a bit and to my understanding removed all partition on my drive leading to me unable to find the Windows Boot Manager. After an unsuccessful troubleshooting I decided getting Zorin as the primary OS would be simpler. But after a bit of googling learnt that getting Windows later is not a good idea for reasons? I would appreciate it if you guys could tell me what the reasons are and how I should go about installing Windows again.
When You install Windows later, it can happen that the Windows Boot Loader overwrites the Zorin Boot - which leads to the Point that You can't boot into Zorin anymore.
If You want it simple: Install windows first and when done, install Zorin. When installing Zorin, choose the Install Option ''Install Zorin alongside Windows'' during the Installation Process. Then, the Installer does all the neccessary Stuff automatically. You only have to decide in the next Step how much Disk Space, You want give to Zorin.
It might be a bit more Time consuming to go this Way, but I would recommend it. Also, be sure that Secure Boot and Fast Boot in BIOS are disabled and also Fast Start-Up in Windows.
