Licensing Question: Hosting Zorin OS for Commercial Customers

Hi everyone,

I really appreciate the clean and user-friendly design of Zorin OS and am currently building a hosting service for customers who need to distribute and encode video on servers. I plan to use Proxmox as the host and provide access to the servers via VNC or a similar solution.

To avoid Windows licensing costs while maintaining an intuitive UI, I am considering using Zorin OS as the operating system.

I have the following questions:

  1. Am I allowed to host Zorin OS (Core, Lite, or any other free version) for my commercial customers?
  2. If I purchase one Zorin OS Pro license, would I be allowed to use that ISO to deploy multiple hosted instances for customers (without distributing the ISO itself)?

Additionally, which version of Zorin OS would you recommend for this use case? I was initially considering Zorin OS Lite.

I appreciate your time and any guidance you can provide.

Best regards,
Nico Laeser

I think this commercial question needs to be referred to the devs for a proper answer.
I therefore tag @AZorin

In terms of which version, Lite as it is xfce. Please be aware Zorin will no longer be releasing Lite after 2029.

As zabadabadoo has pointed out you need to get clearance from @AZorin with regard your other query.

Oh thats sad to hear with the Lite Version.
Where can I contact him? Or should I wait for response here

Both mine and zabadabadoo's post have flagged Artyom for a response.
