Linux alternative to sharex

When using Windows, I used sharex, which automatically uploaded everything I captured to my own URL address. Do you have any recommendations for sharex alternatives that are compatible with Zorin OS?

ShareNix? I don't use such apps, so I havn't tested it.

Though it havne't been updated for 4 years.

EDIT: You could try Flameshot, it's in the repo.

There's a project that is a direct fork of Share X, for Linux:

It's still under development, though. It would be useful if you could try it and report any bugs that you find.

Although if your goal is to simply upload screenshots to a web server this can be done with a simple shell script. In fact, I found a few of these already exist for "systems that can't use ShareX":

I solved the problem by installing two applications, taking your suggestions into account. I use Flameshot for screenshots. I installed Peek for GIFs.

I just looked at the link I shared yesterday and it looks way more complicated than it needs to be (sorry, I was in a hurry).

Flameshot is a great option, it's what I use. I don't have the same need to upload automatically but if you like I could help writing a script that can automate that for you. I'm curious about it myself, so I might do it anyway :joy:

PS: Marked your last reply as the solution for this thread as you mention you solved it.
