Looking for easy/beginners guide for connecting Panasonic TV and new Asus Laptop Zorin 18

Hi, as per the topic title, decided to move away from Windows (11 is awful) and finding my way around Zorin 18 Core and liking it so far.

i'm now trying to stream from my laptop to a Panasonic 40EX700B TV and having no joy.

I'm used to just clicking "cast to device" and it works but trying to find something in the software apps is problematic! i've spent hours installing, trying to use the terminal and gotten nowhere.

Anyone got some guidance or info how to resolve this pls? (treat me as a complete novice!)
thanks

Is it no Option for You to connect Your Laptop with an HDMI Cable to Your TV?

it's not practical to do so.

When you were casting to your tv before, what steps would you take to make it stream? Like does this tv have google chromecast built-in, or is it using a different streaming method to get content to the tv? I know some use other protocols.

i previously used windows 10 which has the cast to device option and with that OS my TV detects the laptop & visa versa but I can't seem to find a simple solution for zorin.
spent ages trying to find a way to make the tv & laptop link up via Zorin but no joy

You could try using GNOME Network Displays if your TV uses Miracast or Chromecast: https://flathub.org/en/apps/org.gnome.NetworkDisplays
