I was looking at purchasing a Macro keypad to smooth out my workflow, and then it hit me that the vast majority of the difference between ones that are $40+ and one with the same amount of keys for $10 is the software.
Then I thought that, the open source community being the resourceful bunch that it is, what I need is out there. It's just a matter of finding it.
Any reccomendations?

So I was wrong in thinking that I could get a simple numpad with 12 or so keys, and with the right software have 2-3 different profiles (thereby having 36 dufferent macros at my fingertips) all for the price of a cheam numpad?
There would be Input Remapper. But there would be the Question if it will be compatible with the Hardware that You will buy.
I use AutoKey - Works with Macro Keyboard products just fine.
I'll look into wether or not either/ both of them have a hardware compatability list.
