Looking into a new GPU, thoughts?

Howdy folks,
I am currently running a NVIDIA RTX 2060 and a Intel Core i-5 10400f
I am looking into potentially upgrading my card and I'm leaning towards team blue/team red just to try something different

the Intel Arc B580 seems to be the way to go, but i'd like to see what y'all reckon based off anyones experinces with AMD or Intel Cards.

I am doing 1440p/1080p gaming mainly and development/3dmodelling and modding so nothing 4k/pushing the bounds

You could go to AMD; there You wouldn't need to Care about installing Drivers because they are in the Kernel. But depending on how new the Card is, it could be neccessary to install a newer Kernel.

Maybe look at Sapphire for a Card.

I went to AMD after my 3080 died. Well, not died, exactly, it stopped rendering text properly, blurred and sometimes basically unreadable. Updating drivers etc didn't work.

Got an AMD 7900XTX for 2/3rds the cost of a 4080 and have been very happy with it ever since.

I don't play games that require raytracing etc, so the games I do play work fine with excelled FPS rates and zero driver issues.

On Windows the Adrenaline app is way better than the Nvidio thing and on Linux, of course, the drivers are built-in.

You would... Strangely... Have better driver support with AMD than with Intel Arc.

This may seem counter-intutive, but for reasons only known within Intel, they have been reticent to provide drivers Linux side for the Arc GPU stack, releasing bits at a time. Most Arc cards should be supported on Linux by now but... It may remain spotty.
