The Video is ... interesting. But this MS Screwing from the Thread Title is a bit overdramatic in my Opinion.
Don't understand me wrong: That Windows can damage the Linux Boot Files is not wrong. And it is of Course not good. But what the Video adresses here is more preventing Stuff.
The seperate /home Partition is something what is a Point - and the Explanation why is okay I think. But I wouldn't see it as a Must-Have. At the End the Boot Order, You can set up in BIOS, too. There should be an Option called '''Boot Order'' where You can change the Positions in the List. That might be easier than making it in the Terminal - even when the shown wasn't wrong.

Forgot to mention something: The damaged Bootloader. In this Case, I wouldn't directly reinstall the whole System. First, I would try Boot Repair from the Live Mode. That might be already enough.

I disagree on the separate /home partition. I always advise this because if the system goes west/south, then you can reinstall the system partition / without the need to backup /home.

Or if you have a spare ssd you can use rescuezilla to make a clone of your system and just clone it back over. I use it every 2 weeks to make a current backup of my system ...in case something goes totaly wrong.....

You can do that, yes. But it is in my Opinion not a Must-Have. You should have Data BackUp anymay - in whatever Form it might be. Do it with a seperate home Partition is a Way, yes. But I wouldn't see it in common as neccessary to have a seperate home Partition.
