Mac OS layout: no floating dock?

I installed Zorin 18 on an old iMac and it's working beautifully. :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

I'm not a Mac user, so I'm not sure how this works on a real Mac - but I chose the Mac OS style layout for this machine, and the icon seems to suggest a floating dock?

But I don't see a floating dock?

It seems to work more like Ubuntu, where you have to click on the desktop switcher button to bring up the dock?

I was expecting it would show up when the mouse is at the bottom of the screen or something?

I can't find an option to change the behaviour either.

It's there any other way to open it besides the multi desktop button? :slightly_smiling_face:

Install "Dash to dock" as described here:

That is not the MacOS Layout. This is the Vanilla Gnome Layout. There is a Dock only in the Overview and not on the desktop. If You want in this Layout a Dock, you have to install the Dash To Dock Gnome Extension.

The Zorin MacOS Layout is available in the Pro Version and is this one:

The other one is Gnome layout.

You could try Q4OS which has a light and dark themed Mac OS theme "FutureOS".

Oh, ha ha. Maybe they should label these? :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

oh, no. I've learned not to install third-party GNOME extensions. I'm not going to compromise my system stability over this. I'll settle for whatever Zorin provides.

Yes, would be good to do that.

The Dash to dock Extension shouldn't bring any Instabilities for the System. It is a pretty common Extension and should work very well. But when You don't want to use it, it is fine of Course.

You could enable Zorin Dash if you have Gnome Extension manager installed. That's what I did (even though I have the pro version).
