running those commands got rid of my wifi tab
run all of them
I ran all of them
Well that was not supposed to happen!
the codes are for reinstalling
Use:-
sudo apt install bcmwl-kernel-source
sudo modprobe -r wl
sudo modprobe wl
I ran the these commands and nothing changed
I ran
sudo apt-get remove bcmwl-kernel-source
and it gave me back my wifi tab
WiFi is it working
no I'm having the same issue where I can't connect to my home wifi
Then I suppose the mac adapters are not compatible.
You can buy an ethernet cable from your wifi access point to your mac or just simple switch back to mac OS or redhat linux.
I have seen a lot of problems for linux users on mac (most of them cannot be solved without hardware manipulation) and it is best to keep your mac working with its original OS.
I guess so, apple dose a good job locking up there hardware
RedHat Linux works with apple devices?
Generally Mac User's use Virtual Machines, But I do not have much Idea about replacing Macintosh entirely with linux. I am more into hardware made for linux.
You should read the reviews for mac redhat.
Some articles that might help (or hinder):
This one is Ubuntu specific and you can't make your own spin of Zorin:
I am wondering if your Mac cannot use the home wifi band i.e. is limited to 2.4GHz and your home wifi is 5GHz.
Just a thought, as we have seen a user affected by this previously.
I checked out the first article Default txpower is 31dBm and is unable to connect in Ubuntu 20.04
And after running the command:
sudo iwconfig wlp2s0 txpower 10dBm
The wifi instantly connected
Does it stick after reboot or do you have to run the command again?
No, I have to re-enter the command after reboot, I'm sure that can be automated with crontab or something
This complex solution for increasing dBm might help you in reverse.
That is irrelevant in this case as Apple Silicon processors were only announced in 2020:
The Macbook used by enate is from 2017
Basically my solution is to run the command:
sudo iwconfig wlp2s0 txpower 10dBm
every time I boot up the machine, if your looking a stable device to run ZorinOS don't go with Mac, I'm also having issues with built-in speakers.
