MacBook Pro late 2011 touchpad freezing and unfreezing

Hello there
I have recently installed Zorin OS Core 15.3 on my old MacBook Pro late 2011, everything works great except the touchpad. It freezes and unfreezes all the time, I noticed this issue at first in the setup menu when installing Zorin, I thought that it will eventually resolve itself when the OS installed but no luck there.
How can I fix this issue? I’m really looking forward to upgrading to Zorin OS Ultimate but I need to know if there is going to be full support for the touchpad, I don’t like using an external mouse that much.
Thanks in advance :slightly_smiling_face:

I can find several bugs related to this issue across many distros.
Can you please try opening a terminal and installing xorg synaptics

xserver-xorg-input-synaptics

Then reboot and test your touchpad?

@Aravisian thanks for your reply :grinning:
I have run these two commands " sudo apt update" and “sudo apt upgrade” right after I posted in this thread and the touchpad started working as it should. I’ll keep testing the system in the upcoming months to see if there are any other problems.
If the issue repeats itself I’ll try running “xserver-xorg-input-synaptics”
