I have used Macrium Reflect a lot on Windows to create disk images in .mrimg format. I used this in case of need if I had to restore the entire operating system, of my secondary PCs, without reinstalling everything and all the programs. I know that Macrium Reflect does not support linux. My question is how can I use the .mrimg format, in case of need to restore a windows system on my secondary PC?
Using Brave's A.I. search engine claims Rescuezilla should be able to do this. Personally I would ditch Macrium reflect for Rescuezilla. (https://rescuezilla.com)
I use both Macrium and Rescuezilla. Macrium to take a copy of the whole disc to an external drive with win 10. Surprisingly it copies the ext4 partitions as they are I have just tried my backup with viBoot on a different machine and both Linux (Solus and Zorin) boot as well as Win 10. I use Rescuezilla to backup to internal drive the boot partition and Linux drives when updating.
In order to restore an entire disc or partitions on a non booting system, you will need to make a Rescue USB in Macrium or DVD which boots up the Windows PE.
