Make Dash more like Dock

I'm overall very happy with ZorinOS Pro, partially due its similary to MacOS. I was previously using ElementaryOS, but I hated their strict "no icons on the desktop" policy and my Infomaniak's kSuite wasn't working with Pantheon (it's only attested for KDE/Gnome).

What I lack in ZorinOS-being-like-MacOS is:

  1. Ability to dock folders to Dash, esp. Downloads.
  2. Deleting files and unmounting drives by dragging them to trashbin.
  3. File rename using Enter instead of F2.

Long-time Mac users can be very accustomed to these, and so am I. I guess 3rd is non-intuitive for anyone from outside MacOS, but it would be nice if this shortcut could be configured? 1st and 2nd I really miss.

BTW "full trashbin" icon is so cheesy :stuck_out_tongue:

  1. You think like a Mac user, this is linux, and if you want to pin a folder do the dash you can do it creating a desktop file, watch that and understand how it work

  2. same as one
  3. Enter is made to launch in Files (nautilus) maybe another file manager will provide this

Cairo-Dock was very close to MacOS on earlier versions but not sure how well the 'current' version would work if at all. Need to play with my Q4OS VM.

Well... I am a Mac user. I thought that feedback is for posting feedback, especially given the fact that I paid for this software.

And I guess MacOS-like mode is there to resemble MacOS.

It's theming, so it look like only, you can try to find feature with gnome extensions and other Dash like suggested by @swarfendor437.
You paid and you will have support for that and I'm glad for you, but linux will stay linux...
