I'm trying to setup the install with lvm on xfs but can't see how to add VGs then LVs during the "something else" step. The closest I've gotten is to select "Advanced features" with LVM and then go back to do it manually but it puts everything under "/" without splitting up the logical volumes. Is there a method I'm missing?
Use the live media before installing. Create the disk partitioning with gparted, and then use the terminal to create the PVs, VGs and LVs.
Then start the installer and the LVs appear at the top of the partitioning screen when you select the "something else" option.
Can you give more detail for your instructions? I'm completely new to Zorin, but I didn't see a way to use parted or anything similar during the install. I created a bootable install disk and am running the installation from there. I have multiple drives, one of them 500GB where I want to install the OS, and two 2TB drives that I want to use LVM to create a single 4TB drive for data. I'm not sure I know enough to manually set that up by choosing Something Else, but I'm having trouble finding instructions for what I want to do.
