Massive Cursor In Brave W/Fractional Scaling

Good thought. I will report this up to brave also.

The issue is in-fact only applicable to native versions and not an issue on Flatpak/Snap versions of chromium browsers.

I did quite a lot of testing with chromium based browsers, window environments and scaling this weekend.

The consistent theme is:

  • Wayland session
  • Chromium browsers (135 or later)
  • Native install (.deb)
  • Fractional scaling enabled (does not actually need to be scaled up, just enabling the feature brings out the cursor issue)

I did not test:

  • Different gnome versions
  • Nvidia vs AMD cards (though I did disable the Nvidia card in my laptop and use the intel card, with the same results)

Can you check again, it seems that at least some other (possibly) related issues are fixed after a recent update on Chromium.

@zenzen Just logged on to report back.

As of package Version 1.77.97 (Chromium Version): 135.0.7049.84 all cursor scaling issues were resolved!

Super quick turnaround my the chromium team.

Note: I have pinned this post as the solution.
