Hello, I'm having this SAME issue in Zorin 17.3
While I haven't tracked down the exact issue, which by the way persisted through different installs on the same laptop, I got some clues.
Running the command:
sudo modprobe -r psmouse
sudo modprobe psmouse
Fixes the issue for the remaining of this session. I'd like to know how to diagnose why the first load of the module is failing...
Do you use an external mouse or are it keys on a laptop or touchpad areas? If it is an external mouse: USB or Bluetooth? Which brand/model?
When does this problem occur? After a new installation? Or did it work before and now it no longer works? Does it always occur or only sometimes, e.g. after suspending?
Can you please create an own thread for your problem and describe your issue and hardware a little bit more detailed?
