This has happened to me every time my OS updates, and I am using older Zorin OS 12.4. Once an update, happens, it invalidates my driver, and I have to reinstall, if I want the Daemon controller to work.
However, if your simply just trying to get the mouse to work again, often times I find, if I unplug the mouse, and plug it back in again, fixes the issue. So try that, and see where things stand at this point.
If StarTrekers suggestion does not work, can you please run the following in terminal, then paste the output here?
xsetpointer -l | grep Pointer
