It's not the Drivers but the Desktop not Working.
I did purge all Nvidia packages. The apt install nvidia-driver-340 failed on not found
Try the Starting Codes I mentioned (first two)
Did that. No change.
Try the Link
What do you mean by starting codes?
These
I did. It purged all Nvidia related packages and now I can only log in the recovery mode.
I am now trying to ubuntu-drivers autoinstall it is removing the 390 drivers and installing 340 ones (wherever it got them). Will report results
Post installation script of 340 drivers returned exit code 10
I am worried I will need to reinstall again. Can’t get it even to mouse broken fresh install
It took quite some time. But still the same. Black screen. Can only get to recovery mode
ctrl + alt + F1 didn't work?
Well it does work in recovery. But I can no longer do normal boot
wait, after login to Ctrl + Alt + F1
type,
sudo apt install --reinstall zorin-os-desktop
This should remove the black screen!
I did that. And it did not remove the black screen
Desktop there But no Video Drivers!
Type
apt search nvidia-driver
Remember the version you want then
sudo apt update
sudo apt upgrade
then,
sudo apt install [driver_name]
driver name = nvidia-(version number you noted)
then,
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:graphics-drivers/ppa
ubuntu-drivers devices
sudo apt install [driver_name]
I think for my card I need drivers 340. These are not in the list
