My Bluetooth headset connects and then disconnects immediately

Hello,

I've had my Linux computer for a long time (running Zorin) and I wasn't used to using Bluetooth for a while, but I know that everything worked perfectly. I've been trying to use a Sony headset for several days now, but nothing works, I don't know why (maybe it was an update that broke everything, but I don't know which one since I've done several without using my headset on this PC).

The scenario I'm encountering is as follows: my computer's Bluetooth detects the headset, pairs it correctly, connects to it and then immediately disconnects (I hear the headset's voice saying "Bluetooth disconnected" before it even tells me that the connection has been established).

I've tried reinstalling bluetooth and my whole system has been updated, I don't know what logs to provide for this to be useful, other than this (90:7A:58:D8:9F:73 being my "headset id" here):

I could indeed probably use an adapter, but it worked fine without one before, so I'd love to do without this workaround if possible.

Concerning the second link, I had already stumbled upon it, but it didn't work, I already own pulseaudio (I reinstalled it).

What Bluetooth packages have you got installed? Have you tried forgetting then when pairing hold power button on headphones for 15-30 seconds? I know I had to do this with my Sony MDR-ZX330BT headset when connecting to unhGoogled smartphone.

Regarding the second part of your message, I was able to pair my headset correctly, and it's visible in the list of bluetooth devices, but it's really the connection that seems to be the problem. I tried again to remove it from the list and pair it up again, pressing the button for as long as necessary, and it went back into the list, but the problem remains.

You might first try rebooting and accessing the grub menu, then selecting Advanced Options for Zorin and booting from Zorin on 5.15.0-83 and see if bluetooth works in case a recent update in the kernel (-92) caused the issue.

If that does not work, please list the output for

dmesg | grep -i bluetooth

Hello, sorry for my late reply, I didn't have access to my computer yesterday.

So I opened the grub menu but the specific version of Zorin that you mentioned wasn't there, instead I had 5.15.0-92 and 5.15.0-91. I tested for the version below 92 (so 5.15.0-91) but the problem was there too.

Perhaps I could try downloading an previous version of Zorin and see, in test mode, if the connection works.

A quick update: I downloaded an earlier version and the latest version of Zorin (17), and both were able to connect my headphones correctly. Perhaps I'd be better off upgrading to the latest version of Zorin after all, eh? My PC doesn't have many personal files.
