My desktop turned blue (no more mountains)

This isn't a huge issue, but after shutting down and restarting, I have a solid blue background desktop and the main reason I'm writing this is there's no minimize button (just a close button) on the windows. The AI said to do this:

owner@GMKtec:~$ echo $XDG_CURRENT_DESKTOP
ubuntu:GNOME
owner@GMKtec:~$ gnome-shell --version
GNOME Shell 46.0

One thing I did before the last reboot was go to the gear icon on the OS login screen and make a change so that SikuliX could operate; under the default, the screen capture security would not allow SikuliX to "see" anything but a black box. After that change, SikuliX was able to do it's screen recognition tasks. Sorry not to have the specifics, but I do know I changed from the default to another "thing". After the change, the mountains still appeared, and each window had both a close and a minimize button.

Is this a side effect from the change that allowed SikuliX to "see", or is that just coincidental?

The AI suggests:

sudo apt reinstall zorin-appearance zorin-appearance-layouts-support zorin-appearance-layouts-shell-core

Which I haven't tried yet.

ETA: After a bit more research, what I said above "go to the gear icon on the OS login screen and make a change so that SikuliX could operate", what I did was change to x11 from Wayland.

What happened was that the change I made to allow SikuliX to work reverted to the original configuration.

I know this because I'm getting this:

So the bottom line is that switching the desktop preserved the "look", but when the OS automatically switched me back, it did not do such a great job of it, giving me a different background and layout.
