My favorite mouse and cheap keyboard

You really can't beat the Logitech M500S 5-button, tilt-wheel wired mouse. $20 on eBay, open box. Same price on Amazon refurb.

I made the side buttons do volume up/down, middle button do F5 and tilt wheel do Forward/Back using Input Remapper.

Lately I've been buying these compact illuminated KBs. $14 (sometimes lower) on Amazon. The "E" key has yet to show any wear, yea.

That's cheap. Although I'm not fancy of colored keyboards. I do endorse whte ligth keyboard which makes it easier to see the keys :). Usually on laptop, I don't know if you can get external keyboards with white light?

Very nice. Cheap cost is good, as long as its build quality is decent. I like how you turn the side buttons into volume controls, thats smart. And your keyboard looks TKL, and has nice lighting. What type of switches does it use, membrane or mechanical?

I recently upgraded my peripherals as well, but you arn't going to get these babies cheap, they will cost you.

SteelSeries Apex Pro Gen 3 Keyboard...

If you look closely, its got an OLED display status screen, which also helps to make on hardware setting adjustments. And it also has a scroll wheel, designed for volume control. Adjustable mechanical linear switches.

SteelSeries Aerox 5 Wired Mouse...

The mouse is very responsive and precise, light weight, easy to use, has all the buttons one needs, and it looks cool.

The colored lights can't be changed but they are surprisingly nice looking and help you orient yourself. Never thought I'd go for them and always want white or blue.

As far as batteries in a mouse, no, no, no. Been there, done that.

wind up and go!

Steampunk?

Keyboard changes:

*Turn on sound keys
*Swap Caps Lock and Esc in Tweaks
*Move Super key to Win-R in Tweaks
*Swap Ctrl-R and Win-R in Tweaks

It's nice having the Super key so handy on the lower right (if you're right handed).

To me, this is the ideal size. Just has the numpad chopped off.
